"My work has given me many skills that I believe will help me as a District Councillor.
I am a passionate active person who likes to get things done. I joined the Parish Council in Newport just over a year ago, and have been driving the Youth Centre project for most of that time, and am looking forward to the Youth Centre reopening in June. I will work hard to follow the example left by Bill Bowker, although I know it will be a hard act to follow."
Cllr Peter Wilcock, who is currently the Chairman of Uttlesford District Council, said, " I am very pleased to have a colleague of such high calibre standing for the Liberal Democrats in this election. He has shown that he is determined to deliver results in Newport with his involvement with the Youth Centre.
