Uttlesford District Council's Liberal Democrat Group have won the Local Government Association's Liberal Democrat Green Council Group of the Year Award. The award was presented to Cllr Peter Wilcock, Deputy Group Leader, at the Lib Dem Spring Conference in Harrogate, by Baroness Ros Scott of Needham Market and Ed Davey MP, Chief of Staff to Liberal Democrat Leader Ming Campbell.
The award recognises Uttlesford's achievements across a broad range of issues:
Cllr Wilcock commented "We are pleased to win this award for all the work that Uttlesford has done in the last year to promote environmental issues. Tackling the threat posed by climate change has been our top priority, and it is pleasing that this work has now been recognised by a national body, and our colleagues in local government."
