The ANASE aviation report is a complete waste of money according to Uttlesford Liberal Democrats.
The Attitudes to Noise from Aviation Sources in England (ANASE) report published by the Government on 2nd November had two main conclusions. The first is 'that people are more annoyed by all levels of aircraft noise than they were in 1985', the second is that 'even relatively low levels of noise can cause some annoyance, which rises as the noise increases'.
Cllr Peter Wilcock, Leader of the Uttlesford Liberal Democrats Council Group commented, "The government has wasted thousands of pounds of taxpayers' money publishing a report that simply states the obvious."
"This report is a complete waste of time and money. Ministers have spent thousands of pounds on something any local resident could have told them for free. If Ruth Kelly is really concerned about noise, she should immediately abandon the government's plans to further expand Stansted airport."
