Government Office Strikes Another Blow To Conservative New Town Plan

Uttlesford Conservatives' proposed new town in Elsenham and Henham.

Uttlesford District Council will be discussing where to put the 4,200 new houses foisted on the district by the Labour government at a meeting of its Environment Committee on Tuesday 22nd January at 7.30PM at its offices in London Road, Saffron Walden. As usual, members of the public may speak at the start of the meeting. GO East (the government office for the East of England) has landed another hammer blow to the Conservative-led council's plans for an eco-town at Elsenham. Just like Essex County Council, GO East criticise the poor quality of the research behind the Conservative-led council's options for distributing the housing across the district. The Conservatives' plans are now the subject of legal action.
