Local Lib Dem district councillor Geoffrey Sell investigates speeding traffic in Ugley

Lib Dem councillor, Geoffrey Sell, has launched a campaign for lower speed limits on Cambridge Road and North Hall Road.

Over the summer, Geoffrey carried out a survey of residents of these roads, which showed overwhelming support for a reduction in speed limits. Currently the speed limit is 50 mph for Cambridge Road and 60 mph for North Hall Road.

Geoffrey asked the Parish Council to discuss the issue. The Council unanimously supported a reduction of the speed limit in both roads to 40 mph. At Geoffrey's suggestion, the Parish Council has arranged a meeting with the County Council's highways department in October. Geoffrey will be attending the meeting and arguing strongly for a reduction in the speed limits.
