Lead candidate Barbara Gibson said:

"Our relationship with the EU is critical to the UK economy, and we need MEPs who are capable of representing the best interests of our country and building bridges.People are turning to the Liberal Democrats because they know we stand for British values of fairness, tolerance and equality of opportunity. They won't be taken in by the hateful rhetoric of the extremists."

Our team of candidates is made up of committed local leaders who are deeply rooted in our communities, backed by more than 10,000 Lib Dem members and more than 300 local councillors in the region. As such, we are the party with the best capability of winning seats and ensuring that the region's interests are well-represented for as long as we remain in the EU."
