Henham and Elsenham By-Election

Thursday 16th was not a good night for the Lib Dems in losing the two seats for Elsenham and Henham they had held for over 20 years. Their valiant and very able candidates Lori Flawn and Sinead Holland would have served the two villages well had they been chosen by the voters. The Lib Dems' successful vote in 2015 slipped to 22%. It was an even worse night for the Conservatives. Their vote dropped to 10%; probably the worst ever Conservative local election result in Uttlesford.

Good luck to Petrina Lees and her party colleague, Gary Lecount in taking on representing Elsenham and Henham at the district council. We feel sure they will enliven our deliberations on matters large and small.

The Lib Dems will take on board the voters' views and will remain determined to do what's right for the two villages they have served so diligently for so long.
